Sailing adventure in Los Roques.

Los Roques is a perfect place for a regatta and cocktail cruises, you can make a circuit passing by each one of the islands, usually the sail boats make this circuit visiting one island per day, the navigation between each island a hard sail of one or two hours, from EI Gran Roque to one of the furthest places of the archipelago would be Cayo de Agua usually you have to sail in the morning so that the sun doesn't make much reflection in the water and you can distinguish the shallow waters, the reefs and the passages trough the narrow straits that are a truly outstanding show when the sun is at your back, the light is really good for pictures and best of all is that the navigation is not stressing and you can take your time to enjoy at peace of this beautiful straits, taking pictures or drinking a Pina Colada, usually, while sailing there is another activity that will make your heart beat stronger, "Trawling", drop your camera, your Pina Colada and everything you might have in your hands, you can't let lunch escape, that lunch that the generous sea of Los Roques always gives us, if there's anything that is excess in Los Roques is the quantity of fish, trolling from the boat you can catch Carite (Spanish makrel), Tuna, Barracuda or Bonito. The return is in the afternoon so that the sun is at your back like when you sailed there in the morning and you can see all the way back to your destination, and enjoy all the shades of blue.

After we pick up our guests at the landing strip, and after explaining how the facilities of the boat work and that there is nothing missing, like cigarettes, film rolls, batteries, and once you have changed your clothes for more comfortable ones we set sails. The circuit begins at Gran Roque from there we sail to Noronqui, it is about an hour and a half sailing, for the ones that have never tried sailing and who might be a bit frightened, it will be alright after five minutes, when the engine is switched off and the sails are raised, we will feel the safety of being here, while listening to the sound of the waves, a fish jumping out of the water, the sea gulls or a forked tail heron that is pursuing the boat... Heard a fish jump? Run get your angle to catch a humble lunch with fresh fish, because even the most fearful and faint hearted person can discover in just five minutes that this close encounter with nature, that this is one of the most virgin and untouched places of the world which can make a change in your life, you have to fish to eat, but if you couldn't there is always a chance to trade something for a good fish or a lobster, the wind is used to transport from one place to another, anyone can grab the helm of the boat along with the captain who will explain you the basic principles about the wind and the sail, anyone will feel like they are back at the time of the old pirates, brave and bold daring to forget everything that is not natural "The City". >>
